CHÂTEAU LA VIVONNE
Bergerie in 1909, then owned by the Gilpin family. In 2010, Michel Benhaim, a renowned wine merchant in the region for over 30 years, bought the estate. An independent winegrower, he cultivates his 26 hectares of organic vines, half of which are classified as AOP Bandol and the other as Côtes-de-Provence. Château la Vivonne, anchored in traditional viticultural practices, maintains the culture of the terroir with meticulous care. To preserve the authenticity and value of the Bandol appellation terroir, Michel Benhaim provides authentic vineyard work. The 26 hectares of vines are harvested by hand, the soil is ploughed with a pickaxe, and the vines are pruned and thinned to leave just one bunch per shoot. Since 1987, production has been carried out without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, in accordance with the principles of sustainable agriculture. No synthetic elements, no loosening, no watering or drip irrigation, entirely manual harvesting and row maintenance with pickaxes. The domaine's wines regularly win gold medals at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris, Vigneron Indépendant, Parker, Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, and 2 stars in the Guide Hachette. These wines can be kept for over 30 years.
