This district was one of the first seaside resorts on the Mediterranean coast.
A visit to understand the history of La Seyne-sur-Mer. The Tamaris district, located on the corniche facing the "belle bleue" and its famous mussel beds, was one of the first seaside resorts on the Mediterranean coast. Tamaris owes its development to Michel Pacha who built a castle, casino and luxury villas. The writer George Sand also stayed in Tamaris, she particularly liked it and wrote two novels. These two figures contributed largely to its tourist frequentation. A must-see of the city.
