This is an amazing observatory installed in a residential area on the heights of Hyères! At first glance this place does not correspond to the cannons expected from an astronomical site… Light pollution is sensitive, it is not always quiet at the meeting, and the flights from the airplanes from Toulon-Hyères airport add a little more to the surprise of the observer who comes to spend a few hours! And yet… The place is very attached, with its scatpoles scattered around 200 m in length, its wooded parts, its amphitheater, and its beautiful sea views! On the activities side, the public can come every Friday evening from October to June included (except in case of bad weather), or during the Summer Festival, from 8:30 p. m., to discover the sky and observe through telescopes. The atmosphere is generally all the more relaxed as the public is largely composed of holidaymakers. Families are at the party and have a good time.
