With its 800 meters altitude, Vitrolles is located on the route of the 14 perched villages between Provence and mountain. Lower, 4 km south of the village, the Plan-De has recently developed, near the EDF canal of Sisteron, the Durance and its valley, the A 51 motorway and the famous Napoleon (N 85) route. The commune is surrounded by summits: The Rock of Chatelle (1047 m) and the Peak of Crigne (1263 m) to the west, and the point at 1480 m altitude in the north, on the foothills of Petite Céüse.
