Site housing the remains of the ancient port of Marseille, the only unveiled testimony of the ancient city, to discover.

It was while digging a car park to build a shopping centre that the remains of the ancient port resurfaced in 1967. The site that stretches out in front of you is the only unveiled testimony of the ancient city. The horn of the port is clearly visible, models of ships will help you to understand the site while the entrance to the city was between two towers, one of which can still be guessed by an imposing wall. The paved road leads under the modern city.

Ancient Roman site, however we were not allowed by the staff to look at any of the information boards (quite a lot of them- all of which look rather new) as they were not along the straight line walk to the museum. Why put up information signs if nobody is allowed to read them?
