DOMAINE DES OULLIÈRES

Winery
4/5
2 reviews

A visit to the Domaine des Oullières is a journey in the middle of the vineyards of the Petit Versailles Vendome and a discovery of wines from knowledge - to come from 7 generations of peasants. That is true! The property of this Provencal farmhouse covers 70 hectares worked in respect of the environment. The production is today for the certified organic 3/4. In the short term, the whole production will be stamped in the Green label. The area produces AOC wines of AIX, wines with a protected geographical indication, and wines from the countries of Bouches-du-Rhône, mainly rosé (72% of production), but also of reds (20%) and whites (8%). The varieties are: black (Grenache, cabernet-sauvignon, syrah, Merlot, cinsault, caladoc), white ugni, Muscat small white grains, white Grenache and vermentino. Among the most prestigious vintages, it is appreciated by the vintage «Harmony» developed from the oldest vineyards in homage to Louis Charles Ambrosio, founder of the vineyard. Here is a rosé with notes of ripe and redcurrant and a smooth white with aromas of honey and linden. The Absolute (red) is a subtle alliance of the best grapes raised in oak barrels. The Pleasure offers alliances of harmonious grape varieties and complex flavours. All wines combine modernity and tradition. The labels are very beautiful! Low hat to Mireille Collomb and his family for these delicious and affordable wines.

This vineyard in organic agriculture extends over 105 ha of small terraced plots. Owned by the Audibert family for five generations, it is the oldest wine estate in Lambesc. The wines are reputed to be aromatic, structured and powerful: exceptional reds, fine whites and elegant rosés. The cellar is installed in a former 17th century coaching inn. On Saturday mornings in the r months, wine and shellfish tasting in front of the cellar, sea urchins in February, and in summer animations and foodtruck. Convivial !

LA FERME DE CABRIÈRES

Organic store

Marjorie and Adrien have been running this farm since 2012. Initially producers of red fruit, they planted an orchard from which they harvest the fruit when ripe. They freeze the fruit just after picking, to be transformed throughout the year into jams cooked in a cauldron. They also grow aromatic plants - saffron, thyme, rosemary, verbena and sage - which are dried and infused to make preservative- and colorant-free syrups. Also delicious fruity sorbets. Tip: Pick your own berries in season!

CHÂTEAU DE BONRECUEIL

Sale of wines and spirits

The area has been in the Chapuy family since the beginning of the nineteenth century. The land at that time is diversified with the cultivation of vineyards, olive trees and gardening. At the end of the sixties, it is a woman: Mrs. Chapuy, who revolutionizes the estate by planting the 57 hectares of vineyards. The latter extend to the villages of Lambesc and Pélissane where the basements are silty thanks to the Bouléry, a stream flowing into the Touloubre. Wines are a combination of different varieties: grenache, carignan, syrah, cabernet sauvignon, mourvhedron, cinsault, white ugni, vermentino and semillon.

DOMAINE LES BÉATES

Winery

Pierre-François Terrat is one of the best winemakers in the Coteaux d'Aix appellation. His rosé Les Béates is of a rare power and can accompany meat dishes without any problem. Anything but a thirst-quenching wine. In a lighter range, the cuvée Les Béatilles is pleasant to drink. We appreciate the very reasonable prices considering the quality. The Béates vineyard covers 53 hectares of the best land in Lambesc. The Béates were nuns who, in the 16th century, went from village to village to teach children to read and write.
