Pébéo is a manufacturer of paints and accessories for fine arts, creative leisure, interior design and artistic awakening. Combining since the beginning its passion for art and its industrial know-how, Pébéo has become the most creative company on the color market, multiplying patents and innovations. It has thus obtained the label Entreprise du patrimoine vivant.
History. Pébéo was founded in 1919 on the lands of Provence. For nearly a century, Pébéo has made a real ascent, from its beginnings with lead (pbo) to today's global company. In 1930, it launched ready-to-use colours and developed synthetic pigments. In 1950, the meeting with Freinet influenced a new orientation towards artistic awakening. The company then launched fabric painting and graphic arts with colorex drawing ink. Finally, 1977 marked a new turning point with the first acrylic paint "made in France".
Today, Pébéo offers more than 6,000 fine colour references and distributes its products in more than 100 countries around the world. She still uses traditional manufacturing techniques. Indeed, the bottling of the products and the canvas on some frames are always done manually. In addition, in order to improve the quality of its colours, it carries out numerous research projects such as the flexibility of acrylic and its increased resistance to light.
