Information center of the reserve, offering cultural activities, exhibitions and all activities in the reserve.

The Camargue nature reserve is the oldest and one of the largest in France. The fauna and flora are of an inestimable richness and develop freely on a space of more than 1 200 hectares. La Capelière is an old Camargue farmhouse that houses the reserve's information centre. Here you can find out about walks, cultural activities, exhibitions and all the activities on offer in the reserve.

Friendly welcome and a great place to explore wildlife, especially as an introduction to the wider camargue.

Très bien aménagé pour l'observation des oiseaux. La période n'etait pas la bonne , pour cette raison la chasse photographique a été ratée .

We went in mid June,
the best time for birds is April/May. We heard lots of nightingales and sparrows (and saw flamingoes, but in the lake outside the reserve).
There is a good visitor centre/ ticket office but it shuts for lunch so double check. Once you are in you can come back to the car park and there is a shaded picnic area . Ask the staff the secret of opening the gate from outside when it’s lunchtime and you want to re enter.
There are no refreshments and 2 loos, one of which has soap and water.
There is a clear path to follow round the site and we saw quite a few interesting insects and butterflies. Also saw a solitary bird from one of the well placed hides, if you have time on your side there may be more.
