At the top of the Cours Sextius, it's a brasserie atmosphere during the day, with croque-monsieur, croque- madame, salad, burger, Simmental entrecôte; everything is fresh and homemade. From 10 a.m. onwards, you can grab a coffee from Maison Noailles in Marseille, or head here in the evening for an aperitif with friends. The barmaid offers a cocktail menu, and if you're a fan, during happy hours 7 days a week, classic and non-alcoholic cocktails are available at reduced prices. DJ entertainment on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings. All-you-can-eat brunch on Saturday and Sunday. A trendy downtown spot.

Just a few steps from the courthouse, sheltered in a small square, this trendy wine bar is appreciated by a large number of customers, young professionals or hipsters, and offers a really friendly atmosphere. The terrace is popular in fine weather, the pleasure being to share a good glass in good company at high tables or bistro. You can try excellent wines and thirst-quenching wines, about thirty references served by the glass, while nibbling on cold cuts, mature cheeses and a nice selection of tapas. A cocooning and bohemian atmosphere for this atypical space recently located in a small street at the top of the Cours Sextius. It is at the bottom that everything happens: in the double vaulted cellar whitewashed with lime. Inside courtyard style of a bastide for the restaurant part: patinated shutters, bistro chairs and tables, linen benches. Mediterranean atmosphere for the other part: indigo blue walls, cushions and coloured benches. It is a quiet place, conducive to relaxation and conviviality. In Aix it is called «BE». This is an institution on the Cours Mirabeau to take appetizers in happy hours. The outdoor terrace is pleasant in summer and is heated in winter! Inside, large rococos chandeliers and all the deep, you can join a more intimate room with comfortable seats if you wish. There's nothing to do with the outdoor terrace, where the music invites you to enjoy the atmosphere at the end of the day. It is rather "electro" and so very connected. You are on the most beautiful avenue of Aix-en-Provence, just opposite the fountain of hot water…

In place of the Great R, the Grand Théâtre de Provence opened the Teddy Bar, a cosy atmosphere of a pub, open the evenings of representation from 19 H and two new intermission bars - one in the lobby, one in the patio for smokers (and non smokers).

Le 3 C is a cultural and civic café run exclusively by volunteers. Prior to the creation of Le 3 C, Aix-en-Provence lacked a citizen-run space for debate, reflection, creative cooperation and the discovery of both amateur and professional artists. An alternative cultural space to the omnipresent consumerist commercial culture. At 3 C, associations can find their place within a collective approach. A snack bar featuring organic, local, artisanal and/or fair-trade produce is also available. In this convivial space, you can simply come for a drink and, above all, share, learn and create. Plus: workshops on Tuesdays (sketching), Thursdays (computing) and one Friday a month (writing). Every Tuesday of the month, there's a big meal to which everyone is invited. 100% gay bar located in a small pedestrian street, close to the MG Club. Many boys are at this air-conditioned bar close to the town hall and thermal baths, consisting of a room with the counter on the ground floor and two rooms in basement, arched, with billiard and a baby-soccer to get familiar with a sport often forgotten by the gay or having fun between mates. It is possible to surf the web with the free Internet point. Thematic evenings are regularly organized.

A newcomer to the beer bar scene: Aix pression (Rognes brewery) has opened its bar right in the center of Aix, in the trendy district! Here you'll find the full range of beers, as well as others, notably Aixoises... Unique in France, a draught gin and tonic (with their own gin and tonic)! In the evening, cocktails and tapas are served with respect for local producers and Aix know-how. Arthur and Charlotte want to share their love of the South: they recently opened a beautiful bistro next to the Cours Mirabeau, with a welcoming and generous bar featuring the colors of Provence. In the evening, it's aperitif time in a cosy, friendly atmosphere. Aperitif platter, croque-monsieur or veggie platter. The wine list is extensive, and there's a wide choice of cocktails: from Mamette, a start-up from Aix-en-Provence that you'll find in the guide, to Jardin d'été (gin, cider, orange blossom and lemon) and Melon Martini (vodka and melon juice), everything is fresh and often homemade. Ranked first in the 2019 French Coffee Championship, Mana has moved but the coffee is still excellent. As the seasons go by, Alex and Benjamin select great vintages that they roast themselves. The freshness of the coffee bean adds great subtlety to the taste. In a warm student HQ setting, a gourmet menu of vegan and vegetarian specialties, teas and freshly extracted fruit juices is on offer. On Sundays, the sweet and savoury brunch is a big hit. Maison Weibel, on the corner of rue Chabrier, is part patisserie, part tearoom, an Aix institution since 1954. Take a gourmet break in one of Aix's finest pastry shops! Weibel is known for its exquisite choux pastries, amandines, gâteau à la brousse, mille-feuilles and Castel praliné, one of the house's great classics... For breakfast, tea or Sunday brunch, if there's room, sit inside or on the small terrace in the lively pedestrian street along the two facades. At lunchtime, small dishes, croque-monsieur and salads.

For a drink at any time of day, on the terrace, in the shady square or inside at the bar, the Brasserie des Arts is a fun, festive place to be! With acoustic concerts, blues, jazz and rock'n'roll live music on Thursday and Saturday, and a DJ on Friday. Tapas are served with the aperitif, but if you're feeling hungry, the chef is in the kitchen preparing delicious dishes (you'll find them in our "je me régale" restaurant section). If you'd like to relax over a cup of tea in a comfortable, refined, chic and confidential setting, head for La Maison Française in a quiet street in the historic center. Known to Aix gourmets for its restaurant, this new address (formerly the Agnès B boutique) is less well known for its tea room. Sofas, deep armchairs and low tables invite you to relax. The Mariage tea list will delight Five o'clock purists, as will the infusions... The pastries of the day are presented on the sideboard; other sweets are on offer, such as calissons, cookies, marrons glacés, cornes de gazelle... you can extend your visit with an aperitif before dinner... and take a look at the boutique opposite, stocked with the finest French brands.

Nathalie and Florence are the ambassadors of Catalan cuisine in Aix-en-Provence. These twin sisters, one from Paris, the other from her lawyer's practice, have created this convivial place that is both a tapas bar and a showcase for decorative objects. Originally from Collioure, they brought back the famous anchovies that you can enjoy with pan con tomate, grilled piquillos marinated in olive oil, calamari, Iberian cheeses and hams, and tortillas.
