In July, it hosts operas from the Festival of Lyric Art. At Easter, the festival of the same name takes place there.
THÉÂTRE DU JEU DE PAUME
Read moreBuilt on the narrow site of the former royal Jeu de Paume dating from the mid-18th century, this superb little Italian-style theater with a capacity of 493 seats has a charm all its own, due in part to the intimate atmosphere it exudes. Completely renovated in 2000, it boasts comfortable seats and perfect acoustics. It works hand in hand with Marseille's Théâtre du Gymnase and the Grand Théâtre de Provence, each year offering a program that alternates from one venue to the other, but is combined in a single catalog offered to the public.
