A tower that is part of the city's fortification network and that has an arms room and a covered way.

This tower acquired its name in the middle of the 19th century when the municipality of Parthenay decided to store the powder reserves in a building dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. Equipped with an armoury and a parapet walk, this tower is part of the town's fortification network. The rectangular room was vaulted and had a fireplace. The whole construction was provided with archway niches.
