Lighthouse offering a view of the north of the island of Oleron, the ocean, the Pertuis d'Antioche, the Rochelaise coast and the islands of Aix and Ré

At 46 m, it has been the island's highest point for two centuries. Climbing the 224 steps takes a little effort, but the view will make you forget all about it. If sailors see it as a landmark, tourists see it as an exceptional panorama. The garden and museum dedicated to the "people of the coast between land and sea" are just as enjoyable. Ballade autour du cap
Pour ceux que la montée au phare effraie, il reste un joli tour du cap à faire à pied, une boucle tranquille autour du phare, à effectuer le soir au coucher du soleil, quand le parking est presque vide (hors été, bien sûr).

Une vue exceptionnelle
Nous nous y sommes rendus fin juillet, et le spectacle vaut le coup d'oeil et l'heure d'attente pour entrer est vite oubliée.
La vue en 360 ° est magnifique avec entre eutre le fort boyard, nous avions bien fait de faire suivre les jumelles pour profiter encore plus!

A faire au moins une fois. Tarif raisonnable pour la montée du phare. Par contre, a savoir que les dernières marches etaient vraiment très raides et pas facile avec des enfants dans notre cas. Mais au final, superbe vue depuis là-haut. On ne regrette pas.
