Halles located near the city's main gate
You come here first for the village's "Plus beaux villages de France" label, for the port, for the Romanesque church, and then you return for the atmosphere and to stroll around. Located near the town's main gate, the halles (covered market) appear to have been built in the Middle Ages. This octagonal structure is quite surprising. Owned by the lord of the manor, they were once a fairground where local residents would go to sell their produce. The halles were sometimes transformed into a street theater for visiting actors.
