The Sarrance monastery, with its famous eight-sided concave bell tower, is undoubtedly one of Béarn's finest examples of Baroque architecture, and welcomes pilgrims on their way to Compostelle. In 1345, Premonstratensians (monks who serve parishes and return to the monastery in the evening) from the Abbey of Saint-Jean-de-la-Castelle, near Aire-sur-l'Adour, settled in Sarrance. They also welcome pilgrims to this timeless place.

Il ne faut pas hésiter à sonner à la porte même si vous n'êtes pas pèlerin. Le cloître est modeste mais fort reposant, égaillé par une ribambelle d'oiseaux nicheurs. L'accueil du prêtre y est généreux et jovial; tout un chacun y trouvera sa place le temps d'une pause culturelle, historique ou méditative...
