BIRTHPLACE OF FRANÇOIS MITTERRAND
House retracing the history of the Mitterrand family and the childhood of the man who would become President of the Republic from 1981 to 1995
The visit takes place in the living rooms of the house. We discover the history of the Mitterrand family and the childhood of the man who will become president of the Republic from 1981 to 1995. The furniture and objects conserved for four generations, as well as numerous documents (speeches, manuscripts of the President) offer a plunge into time and into the universe of a man whose imprint is still strongly anchored in this commune. Free access to the garden in which you will see the former building of the family vinegar factory, the cooperage, as well as the wash house. The establishment is now part of the circuit of the Houses of Illustrious, a label awarded by the Ministry of Culture to distinguish places that perpetuate the memory of men and women who have influenced local or national history.
