Since the creation of this institution in 1937, or even 1884, when the halls were created with its rustic parquet flooring inside, with these rows of benches and tables, coming from a Portuguese tram wagon, with the authentic pewter counter stamped "Martin Meallet" on the side of the halls, nothing has been missing! Even the boss, Jean, from Laborde, who breathes and perspires this timeless place. And this ballet of waitresses and waiters who come to feed the tourist as well as the regulars, or even the market worker who, from 5.30 a.m. onwards, can enjoy a generous snack of local ham and cheese. One eats, on the slate, fish soup, oysters, whelks, piquillos, lard with 9 fish, anchovy fillets, grey shrimps, marine mussels, homemade axoa and homemade caramel cream (also), mamia, Basque cake. Once you have done your shopping in this gastronomic Mecca, you must put your basket down for a few moments in this lively and colourful place where Basque specialities abound...

C'est totalement illégal et j'ai alerté l'Office du tourisme.
Extrait de "Que choisir" : Un restaurateur peut-il refuser de me servir ?
"... le fait que vous soyez seul et que l’unique table restante soit pour quatre personnes ne représente pas un motif valable de refus. Un tel refus de vente serait passible d’un amende allant jusqu’à 1 500 € (3 000 € en cas de récidive)."
A noter : le comble, il était 12h30, la terrasse était à moitié vide !!!
