Orthez is very committed to the promotion of contemporary art. The Image-Imatge centre has become a centre dedicated to contemporary images. Located in a 250 m² space in the heart of the city, the art centre offers exhibitions all year round, with events designed to raise awareness among a wide audience. The program allows renowned artists to meet young creators. Here the image in all its forms is approached as a vector of creation. The mission of this structure is to develop artistic awareness and pedagogy. It is indeed a priority to offer adequate conditions for the development and demonstration of artistic work, to show the diversity of images, to accompany the public in its approach to this art. Since December 2009, Image-Imatge has been a member of the French Association for the Development of Art Centres (DCA) and Orthez has been awarded the "Pôle ressources image et art contemporains" label.
