Museum of fossils and turtle shells, with fascinating exhibits and rich, varied collections.

The founder of the museum that bears his name wanted to bring together collections as rich as they were varied. Two centuries later, this wish continues to take shape, with one of the finest paleontology collections in Europe! The specimens on display in the new room date back over 55 million years, just after the extinction of the dinosaurs. Mammoth teeth, fossils, turtle shells: you'll find some fascinating pieces. And to think that this exceptional collection comes from a quarry some ten kilometers away!

A great little museum with something for every one. Fossils, Greek historical finds from the area, the Japanese room was quite good, paintings of the area, glass, furniture, sculpture, religious artifacts. It's well arranged, and one can get closer to the paintings and displays than in a big museum. They have a deal where you buy tickets to one museum and can go to three in town for no additional money, which was nice. We did the miniatures museum and the cloitre St.-corneille as well.
