Founded in 1876 on the Plaine du Putois, the racecourse has established itself as a major racing venue in France. Initially under the aegis of the town, it took off with the creation of the Société des Courses in 1891, supported by the law on pari-mutuel betting. Its setting and rich history attracted the great names in turf racing. Since 1932, its Anglo-Norman grandstands have marked its identity. Today, the racecourse continues to evolve with modernized infrastructures, guaranteeing quality, safety and passion for flat, jump and trotting racing.
