Restaurant located in the heart of downtown offering traditional cuisine.
We don't know where to begin describing the attractions of this establishment! The location is ideal, right in the center of town, on the street leading to the imperial castle. The layout is pleasant, with several nooks and crannies that make you feel in a rather intimate setting. Each area has its own charm: the room with its terracotta floor tiles and superb photos of the château, the room with the parquet floor and large glass window, the beautiful veranda and the small terrace. But regulars come here above all for the tasty dishes made with fresh produce.

Ayant l'habitude d'aller au Bistrot du Château avant le covid, plusieurs personnes m'avaient indiqué que depuis le changement de propriétaire, la qualité avait baissé.
Il y a quand même du positif même si, en effet, la qualité à baissé.
Les positifs :
- La raie est toujours à la carte, câpres et purée en accompagnements
- Rumsteak bien présenté et frites consistantes en accompagnements
- Les desserts qui sont tous fait maison et excellents (crème brulée, nougat glacé et profiteroles maisons)
- Le service
Les négatifs :
- Le tartare avait une sauce qui avait un goût de Ketchup (littéralement) epicé
- Le cabillaud au chou n'était vraiment pas bon : les aliments ne se marient absolument pas et, malgré une présentation correct, fait très cantine
- L'ambiance a perdu un peu de son "prestige", un peu plus "kitsch" en terme d'atmosphère
Le Bistrot du château reste toujours un bon restaurant à Compiègne mais en effet, "c'était mieux avant"
