ST. JOSEPH'S CHAPEL
Neo-Gothic chapel built in 1861, seat of the Archconfraternity of St. Joseph founded in 1859 by Bishop Claverie.
It's not Beauvais' best-known building, far from it, but this neo-Gothic chapel built in 1861 is certainly worth a look! It was once linked to the former Institut Normal Agricole de Beauvais, founded by the Brothers of the Christian Schools in 1854, and now located outside the city under the name Institut LaSalle Beauvais. It is also the seat of the Archconfraternity of St. Joseph, created in 1859 by Monseigneur Claverie, then a young chaplain, to propagate the cult of St. Joseph.
