THE BASILICA
Basilica considered as a place of international fame because of its important pilgrimage dedicated to Saint Quentin.
This former collegiate church, which became a basilica in 1876, is an imposing Gothic edifice among France's largest churches, often referred to as the "7th cathedral of Picardy". Construction began in the 12th century and took almost 300 years. Renowned for its pilgrimage to Saint-Quentin, it now boasts a new forecourt designed by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The redevelopment highlights the Gothic architecture while integrating contemporary elements, creating a welcoming space in harmony with the monument.
