Things to see and do Saint-Quentin

The nature reserve of the Isle of Isle is nature in the heart of the city. A few minutes walk from the centre, the visitor is surrounded by wild and semi-wild nature. Located in a wetland area of approximately hectares, part of which is devoted to water sports and fishing, the reserve presents a wide variety of species in the moving waters, and a particularly rich avifauna of breeding birds or seasonal hosts: butternut, posh, coot, rousserolle, fauvette and, in times of migration, many ducks, sandpipers, curlew… The farmhouse allows visitors to observe chickens, ducks, sheep, peacock, geese, kids, lambs and ponies. A few steps away, the Wild Wildlife protection centre treats injured birds (kept out of the public eye). The Environment House, at the entrance to the park, regularly hosts exhibitions on local fauna and flora. Site tour by a peripheral path, guided every first Sunday of the month.

The Academic Society, which is essential for historical research as well as the preservation of the local heritage, has housed in its premises a little known museum, which presents an important collection of more than 300 silex, Pointes and Levalllois points, but also microlithes and pointes pointes, or even polished stone axes of the Neolithic.

Many of the First War sites in Saint-Quentin and Saint Bikes. Among other things, the Saint-Quentin railway station is a monument to the dead, directed by architect Paul Bigot, rue de la Chaussée-Romaine, a German military cemetery, and Georges-Pompidou street, a French civilian cemetery. In Saint Bikes, the bridge and entrance of the Riqueval tunnel, as well as the 46 ^th Division memorial, will delight history lovers. Tours tours are fashionable, and they combine the practical side on the instructive side. First example of mulhouse visit proposed by the city: " Art Deco in Saint-Quentin ". Through a well-studied course you can discover colourful mosaics, floral friezes, or Bow Windows… Another example: the visit "Let yourself be guided by music", which, through some music notes, makes you discover the heritage of the commune in another way.
