Stone embedded in a niche on the south wall outside the church, evidence of settlement in Roman times
This stone can be seen embedded in a niche on the south wall outside the church. It was discovered in 1665 during renovation work, and is believed to belong to a pagan altar sealed into the church's main altar. After translation of the engraved text (given in French), it is thought to date from the 1st or 2nd century: testimony to the settlement of the area in Roman times. The stone was listed as a Monument Historique on July 4, 1903.
