Hotel with flowered garden offering decorated rooms, ideal for a stay with the perfume of childhood.
An original concept: the former Guéthary school has become a hotel, and Le Balea (Basque for "whale") welcomes you for a stay with a childhood flavour. In the hotel's grounds, you'll find a collection of school markers: pencil pots, room numbers are calculations... The 28 rooms, formerly classrooms, have kept their spaciousness, with a very successful contemporary decoration. In the playground, a garden has blossomed, but the wall has kept the fresco made by the children. A vintage address with a modern twist.

Petit déjeuner excellent viennoiserie maison. Cet hôtel est une ancienne école.
Une excellente idée et déco originale.
Caution demandée à l'accueil sans état des lieux ? Dommage car notre chambre avait des choses à redire. Si caution il faut aller jusqu'au bout. Caution rendu sans aucune vérification ?
Drôle de principe. Sinon tout ok.
L'hôtel est au calme, à une bonne dizaine de minutes à pied de la plage ou de la gare, ce qui permet de découvrir de beaux endroits à Guéthary. Un arrêt de bus est à 100 mètres pour aller visiter Biarritz par exemple.
Je recommanderai cet hôtel à mes proches sans hésiter.
