Be curious and push open the door of Brenti (which means "belly" in Sardinian), a gourmet treasure trove off the main shopping street in the village of Espelette. You'll discover the cuisine of Matteo, a Sardinian by birth with an already rich CV, and his partner Aurore. A highly accomplished blend of Sardinian, Italian and Basque flavors, the dishes are creative and surprising, and traditional, even forgotten, recipes are given pride of place. Matteo works with local and seasonal produce, and his menu changes weekly. A refined address not to be missed.

Très belle découverte que ce récent restaurant au centre du bourg d'Espelette (Pyrénées-Atlantiques). Cadre très agréable et calme au sein d'une maison basque magnifiquement aménagée. L'accueil et le service réalisés par Aurore sont parfaits. La cuisine très inventive, mélant accents sardes (Matteo, le chef, est d'origine sarde) et basques, est exquise. Les produits sont parfaits. Cave riche en vins italiens de qualité. N'hésitez pas en retenant votre table à aller encourager ce couple très sympathique. Une très bonne adresse à connaître !!!
