LE LIEU UNIQUE

Theater

Located on the banks of the Saint-Félix canal, a stone's throw from the SNCF train station and the city center, the former Lu cookie factory was transformed into an atypical art center - the Lieu Unique - on January1, 2000. This multidisciplinary artistic space has become the city's emblematic cultural den, recognized nationally and internationally. With a performance hall, a flexible exhibition space and workshops on the floors, it explores the plastic arts, theater, dance, circus, music, literature, philosophy, architecture, the culinary arts... All this in an effervescent atmosphere, further enhanced by all the services offered and renovated in 2013: bar, restaurant, bookstore, steam room, store with unusual and creative objects, visit to the Lu Tower - it's a real place to live! Le Lieu Unique aims to be a space for artistic exploration and a hub of activity that mixes cultures and audiences. It offers nearly 40 shows, more than 200 days of exhibitions, festivals and nearly 50 conferences (Les géopolitiques de Nantes, les rencontres de Sophie, the Atlantide literature festival, etc.). On the bill for the 2023/2024 season, among others, the pianist, producer and composer Nils Frahm... Discover the program online. Do not hesitate to go there during a walk, if only to discover this atypical place, and feel its so particular atmosphere. A place to (re) discover absolutely.

NMC CAFÉ

Lounge bar

The NMC has a particular concept since it includes both a bar, a restaurant restaurant (on the same site) and a business organizer (Édouard-Normand Square). But the bar is of course open to everyone and, as surprising as it may appear, there is nothing left to suggest that a room is available to the groups in the room. The interior is warm, with its hyperconfortables benches and side-side side. The map explores all the terrain, offering both attractive smoothies and a set of original hot drinks. Coffee lovers should find their happiness: espresso, latte latte, macchiato latte, caffé mocha, monte, or our coup (coffee, Nutella, milk foam). The NMC is also menus for lunch (dish of the day, express or club formulas) or a large map.

As its name indicates, Mousse Café Laverie is a place where a laundry as well as a restaurant and tea room cohabit. At lunch time, you will find the suggestions of the day on the slate. Pies, soups, bowls, toast or even pasta, all prepared in-house from fresh products. As for the sweet treats, they are available all day long. On the spot or to take away. The versatility of this place makes all its charm.

Music and entertainment bar

Adjacent to the Micro Comedy Club, the Micro Barrr is there to take care of our refreshments and supplies. Warm place, we appreciate the beautiful privatizable mezzanine and the summer terrace. On the menu, the choice of drinks is varied. Beers, wines, soft drinks but especially cocktails and mocktails at low prices. We like the associations of the Moolz (pineapple, apple, basil and ginger) or the Lendemain (orange, lime, sparkling water and sugar). To nibble and accompany everything, let yourself be tempted by the boards, the sausages or the delicious vegan terrine. LA PASSAGÈRE

Coffee shop and tea room

Do you like cosy, hushed and refined tea rooms? You will love La Passagère. Ideally located in the Passage Pommeraye, on the middle floor, it is a place like we like them: the atmosphere is relaxed and delicate. La Passagère is the result of the work of a couple of restaurateurs well known to Nantes gastronomes: Isabelle and Jean-Charles Baron-Lefebvre. They are already at the head of the Baron-Lefebvre house in the Cité des Congrès, the Pellières near the Zenith and the caterer on rue Cassini. All in all, four excellent and unmissable restaurants in the City of Dukes. At La Passagère, you can come and enjoy a hot chocolate or one of the many teas on the menu: smoked black tea, rooibos, red-black tea, white or green tea, whether it's called Midnight Demon, Blue Grass, Casanova or Dragon Well, you'll find the one that suits your palate. What you should not miss are the pastries. You will find them presented in a window like magnificent jewels among which you will have to choose: an excellent tiramisu tart, a no less famous Nantais cake, the delicious small pecan and cranberry cakes or why not the Orélys tart (sweetened shortcrust pastry and a praline base and an Orélys ganache)... The place can be privatized. A bubble of delicacy within an exceptional architecture.

SC CLUB NANTES

Cabaret and Revue
Closed - Open to 22h00

Are you familiar with pole dancing? Both sporting and acrobatic, this discipline takes place around a vertical bar. Very sensual, this dance allows women to develop flexibility, muscularity and to express their femininity! At the SC Club, we don't take dance classes but we come to admire the show around the breathtaking and sometimes a little bit daring performances of the artists. This gentlemen's club, is open to gentlemen, it allows them to spend a moment over a drink while discussing or admiring the "polers". This sexy cabaret is also ideal for a bachelor party (EVG). The bride and groom can also rent a limousine as an option! Far from prejudices, the SC Club is a night bar open to all with guaranteed good humour. The principle is always festive, the girls play the game of seduction but the challenge stops there! Here, businessmen rub shoulders with students or gangs of friends on the prowl. It must be admitted, the pleasure of the eyes is there in front of these artists with the bodies of naiads, so lightly dressed and worthy of the most beautiful lingerie advertisements. Options exist allowing girls to do stripteases "à la carte" (always for the unique pleasure of the eyes!) The club celebrated its sixth anniversary in September 2020 with some surprises.

Let's talk about the decor! Both industrial and dreamlike, atypical and artistic, with a suspended iron table, lights that make us travel or urinals for the least original. And Atomic's is also a library with nearly 2,000 comics, which you can read and reread while sitting comfortably in one of the leather club chairs in the back room

THÉÂTRE RUE DE BELLEVILLE

Theater

The Théâtre de la Rue de Belleville, a remarkably restored former Renault garage, has been designed as a place of exchange. In the entrance hall, the tall light-wood structures, the second-hand furniture and the small bar where you can wait before the show with a drink quickly transport us into the charming living room of a country house. At the same time, the intimate auditorium has all the hallmarks of a professional venue, thanks to its real orchestra chairs salvaged from a hall in the south of France, its large stage and its imposing ramp. The program features contemporary and classic texts, often with a subtle comic tone, that speak to us about human nature. It is renewed regularly, so don't hesitate to consult the website or contact the theater to find out about current shows. For 2023-2024: La nuit du théâtre and Knock in September, Les Reprisettes to open the season, J'ai perdu mon mari, a Quebec comedy, Matthieu Bouchet, etc. Once the curtain falls, you can meet the actors at the theater bar! From morning breakfasts to hearty lunches, brunch specialties and a gourmet tea room, there's no shortage of ways to indulge! One of the restaurant's special features is that (hearty) brunches can be enjoyed throughout the week, as well as at weekends. With "classic" formulas like the "Handy" formula, with a choice of a hot or cold drink and a choice of cooked eggs: scrambled, poached, fried or the chef's famous eggs Benedict, but also smoked bacon, sausages and vegetables and potatoes of the moment. You can also indulge in an eggs-only option, served with toast and salad. Pancake lovers also come to try the inevitable Sweet Stack: 3 pancakes with whipped cream and maple syrup, or the Savoury Stack with crispy bacon, 2 fried eggs on pancakes. On weekday lunchtimes, a "lunch with love" menu is added, with a choice of 1 starter, 3 main courses including the famous Handy P burger, and 2 desserts, depending on the chef's inspiration: beautiful presentation, fresh produce, inventiveness: everything you need for a Nice Day! The lunch menu changes every 2 weeks, and there's always a vegan dish! It's worth noting that at Handy's you can have brunch even "late" (10am-4pm). LA FABRIQUE À IMPROS

Theater
Closed

Located in the heart of Nantes, between Place Royale and Place du Cirque, the Fabrique à Impros is, as its name suggests, a cultural and artistic venue dedicated to the practice of improvisation. The small theater opened its doors in September 2019 with the aim of bringing together the many improvisation companies, facilitating public access to this discipline and legitimizing it. Since its creation, it has served as a federating distribution space and a resource center for improvisation in the Nantes region. The theater is a convivial space organized around three areas: a bar, designed as a meeting point for Nantes residents, to share good times before shows and do improv again afterwards; a 90 m² auditorium, equipped with sound and light (and a 15 m² stage), seen as a space for discovery and pleasure, where innovative creations are proposed, mainly performed by Nantes-based troupes; and upstairs, the actors' offices and dressing rooms (in other words, the theater's backstage area). Companies wishing to use the Fabrique à Impros for rehearsals or artist residencies are welcome to do so. The venue can also be made available to companies wishing to use it privately for a seminar or performance, or even for training purposes. Throughout the year, shows for all kinds of audiences are produced and programmed. One-off courses and annual workshops are organized for children, teenagers and adults of all levels. Alongside its theater activities, the company also organizes major off-site events in and around Nantes (special dates, festivals, etc.). La Fabrique à Impros is also a team of professionals working all over Nantes (and beyond!) to share their passion and skills with you. Their interventions are as diverse and varied as the people who call on them: schools, works councils, local authorities, hospitals... As their aim is to spread improvisation to all types of audiences, they want to pass on their know-how through unique, high-quality experiences. And whether they're entertaining, training or animating, their watchword will always be: fun!
