The first Mesquerean place of worship housing two statues: the restored wooden Virgin Mary and Saint Gildas, bishop of Noyon
Located near the Pointe de Merquel, the chapel was the first place of worship in Mesquères, dedicated to Notre-Dame and Saint Gildas. Destroyed in 1944, it was rebuilt in 1949 and blessed by the Bishop of Nantes. The choir, frescoed by Canon Bouchaud, shows a litany of altar boys and religious around Christ on the Cross. There are two statues: the Virgin Mary and Saint Gildas. A model ex-voto recalls its maritime vocation. Outside, the Virgin Mary blesses sailors and families.
