Forest featuring the second highest dune in France after the Pilat dune at La Baule-Escoublac
Of the 650 ha planted in the 19th century, only 50 ha remain undeveloped. This protected island is known as the Escoublac forest. Its species of acacia, hawthorn, alder and various pines were planted to fix the sand dunes. There are several trails to discover the flora and fauna, as well as the site of the village of Escoublac, swallowed up by the sands and marked by a cross, which was clearly visible just over fifty years ago. It features the second-highest dune in France after the Pilat dune. A 1,350-metre-long fitness trail (boulevard de Cacqueray) features some forty workshops. The eastern part of the forest is wilder, and nearby equestrian centers organize horseback rides. Cyclists have not been forgotten either, as the very sandy forest offers a challenging course for mountain bikers.

La forêt d'Escoublac est alors tout indiquée.
Endroit agréable qui fait quasi-oublier la ville dans laquelle on se trouve.
