A remarkable mill, a great place to visit in Batz-sur-Mer.

Originally located on the hillsides of Guérande. A miller welcomes you for a visit and sells his flour. This 16th century mill is characterized by its canvas wings. It is typical of the Guérande hillsides known as "à petit pied". The building is not cylindrical: the top supporting the wings is of a larger diameter than the base. The cut granite structure and the chestnut shingle roof are remarkable. The mill works with its old mechanism, crushing buckwheat between its 2 granite millstones of 1.5 tons.

Jolie petit moulin toujours en activité à Batz-sur-Mer, pas loin du Croisic. Même si on le voit de la route, je vous conseille de vous y arrêter pour en faire le tour. Lors des vacances scolaires, un meunier vous propose une visite guidée du moulin et vous explique son fonctionnement.
