Abbey with the relics of Saint Austreberthe and a treasure of sacred art, one of the most beautiful in France, in Montreuil.

The Saint-Saulve abbey church, built in the 12th century, has seen many ups and downs in its long history: damaged by an earthquake in 1467 and then by fire in 1537, it still bears fascinating historical witness today. Its treasure trove of sacred art is one of the finest in northern France, dating from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Since the French Revolution, the abbey church has housed the relics of Saint Austreberthe. The building has been protected as a Monument Historique since 1910.

Située sur une très jolie place toute claire, on a immédiatement un sentiment de calme et de quiétude. L'église n'est pas très grande mais mérite la visite. Nous n'avons pas eu beaucoup de temps pour le faire, c'était le jour des communions ! A l'extérieur, attardez-vous sur l'observation de l'entrée. Très beau tympan ! Vraiment une très belle ville qui mérite son titre de plus beau village de France ! Un beau séjour !
