A captivating visit particularly rich for a journey through time and traditions, the land and its meanders

This museum of the Barétous valley is a journey through time and tradition, through the land and its meanders. You'll be immersed in the history of this Pyrenean region. The visit is particularly rich and captivating, with 5 exhibition rooms, film screenings and a 3D reconstructed cave. Once you've seen the valley, you'll discover its seismic activity, including the infamous Arette earthquake, but also its impressive underground network, the Verna chasm and its explorer-spelunkers. One of the rooms focuses on pastoralism, and a final room concentrates on the valley's personalities.

Open all year round. Low season: Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm. High season: Tuesday to Friday from 9am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm; Saturday from 9am to 12pm. HS: 01/05-29/10, BS: 02/11-30/04. Free up to 5 years old. Adults: 5 €. Reduced rate for groups of 4 or more. Guided tours for groups on reservation. Tourism & Handicap label. Guided tour (French and Spanish). Store.

Excellent

Musée très intéressant, se décomposant en plusieurs salles sur plusieurs étages. Beaucoup d'informations, photos, petits films sur la vallée, le pastoralisme, le tremblement de terre de 1967, les outils d'époque etc.. sans parler de l'excellent accueil de la part de Paula.
A faire avec enfants sans problème
