Calais beach is the region's most popular tourist destination. Its fine sandy beach is ideal for swimming (lifeguard surveillance in summer) and sunbathing. It has a children's playground and mini-golf course. Sports activities also include windsurfing, kitesurfing, sand yachting and beach volleyball on the courts deployed along the seawall. Stretching between Calais's West pier and the Gaston Berthe dyke, the dyke is extended at the other end by a coastal strip that allows you to walk as far as Cap Blanc Nez.
