Lighthouse built in 1836, 44 meters high and nicknamed "la chaussette" in Berck.

The lighthouse of Berck is a modern construction of 1950. It replaces the previous one, built in 1836 and destroyed during the Second World War. 44 meters high, nicknamed "the sock" by the inhabitants of the city, it is not visited anymore. At its feet, you will find the Maison du Patrimoine where you can discover the interior of a Berck house from the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. It can be visited with the volunteers of the Berck Patrimoine association.

The most beautiful lighthouse in Europe, surrounded by a lovely coastal walk where you can see seals (Foques) and relax. Many lovely Cafes and shops nearby as well as Berck-Sur-Mer naturist beach, where you can engage in an all over tan, either publicly on thr beach, or hideaway in the many dunes.
The lighthouse lights at night and I heard that it's possibly going to be visitable again in the future which we very much look forward too!!
Well worth a visit for the surrounding areas.

Pour info le phare de Berck ne se visite plus , escaliers trop dangereux , la maison située en bas du phare par contre visitez là c est toute l histoire de la vie des pêcheurs berkois, avec des pièces meublées ,photos,objets etc.
