A visit to the past and the culture of Northern France at this mining site, the only one of its kind in the region. Here, you'll discover the lives of the former miners who worked here for years. The site was opened in 1899, and closed 90 years later. On a guided tour, you'll discover what the mine was like back then, the setting for the famous film Germinal, and a panoramic view from one of the headframes... A poignant place still full of memories.

Site minier

Le site minier de Wallers Aremberg qui servit autrefois de décor pour le tournage du film germinal et désormais un endroit où se déroulent de nombreuses manifestations culturelles comme le grand concert estival où la scène est plantée au pied d un chevalement.
