A massive square tower, 58 m high, listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this massive 58-meter square tower was erected around 1440, and was attached to the Saint-Eloi church until a fire separated the buildings in 1558. It houses a carillon of 50 bells, whose bumblebee, Jean-Bart, weighs five tons! From the top of the belfry (accessed by elevator and 65 steps), the 360-degree panorama offers a superb view of the city and port. Access to the belfry is available from the tourist office. Good to know: the carillonneur is present every Saturday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.!

Pretty visit accompanied by a guide the Tourist Office dunkirk to the sound of carillon. With not lost for all those who wish " dominer" the city for understand best!
a visit instructive and easy, that all those who visit the city of Jean Bart should make arriving, because from high (almost 60m) dominates the town, the port, the beach;. a guide to the Tourist Office accompanies you and known to the history of the city. We could attend the concert carillon (exceptional) really typical of the north. To recommend the family package 8€ for 2 adults and 2 children
