HERMITAGE CASTLE

Located in the heart of a vast park and surrounded by the state forest of Bonsecours, whose 1200 hectares extend into Belgium, the Château de l'Hermitage is a true gem of the ^18th century. The building is exceptional as much by its dimensions and the originality of its conception, as by the quality of its architecture. The latter expresses the refinement of the courtly art rather than the imprint of the soil usual to rural residences. It is the only testimony of Palladian architecture in the region. The castle is registered as a historical monument.
