THE PRISON OF BOURBOURG
A building of impressive proportions and structure in Bourbourg.
This building, which was named a prison in 1550, impresses with its proportions and its strong structure. On the ground floor, you will discover a Flemish kitchen where prisoners had to pay a tax to eat. Upstairs, you will find two isolation rooms with graffiti on the walls. When you go down to the basement, you will undoubtedly be frightened to see the dungeons. At the time, people were imprisoned mainly for religious reasons and were therefore usually locked up unjustly..
