The belfry of Bailleul is one of these monuments that we admire, by its height and its architecture in the neo-Flemish style.
As one of the 23 belfries listed as a World Heritage Site by Unesco and registered as a historical monument, the Bailleul belfry is one of those monuments that can be admired, not only for its height (62 metres) but also for its impressive neo-Flemish style architecture. Its origin dates back to before the 13th century. The building as we know it today was entrusted to the famous Louis-Marie Cordonnier in 1932. It is topped by a bulbous bell tower on top of which can be seen the mermaid Melusine looking into a mirror.

Très beau beffroi, la vue d'en haut est jolie, surtout par temps ensoleillé. Le carillon est agréable à écouter et si caractéristique du Nord!
Majestic town hall, one of the largest and most beautiful North, a very characteristic carillon with a beautiful melody!
It is for me the most beautiful belfry in Flandres.On can go up taking go to the Tourist Office. The view is magnificent and if you can, listen to the bells. It through many mishaps and it is protected with titles from the historical monuments since March 1992. On the largest bell, you can read a poem, which begins with these words " I the voice of souvenir, the future... "
