The Maison Barthouil, established in Peyrehorade in the Pays d'Orthe region since 1929, specializes in the sale of products of great character: salmon and foie gras. The history of Maison Barthouil is intimately linked to this region of the southern Landes, situated at the confluence of the Pyrenean Gaves. The traditional Peyrehohade market has been held on Wednesday mornings since 1358. It's the oldest market in the Landes! Over a hundred local producers, shopkeepers, craftsmen and other hawkers set up their stalls from Place du Sablot to Place Aristide Briand. Start or finish with a pig's trotter tasting in one of the restaurants open early that day. There's also a small food market under the Halles on Saturday mornings, a Wednesday morning "marché au gras" from October to March, and a Gascon day on the Wednesday before the summer holidays.

Since 2016, the Saveurs des Saisons store in Peyrehorade has been offering a wide range of products from local producers, mainly from the Landes and Basque regions. On the delicatessen side, you'll find bulk produce (dried fruit, oils, flours, quinoa from the Landes, Espelette products, etc.), beers, wines, organic fruit and vegetables, as well as fine cheeses and charcuterie.
