Monument in memory of the 2,000 Italian volunteers who enlisted for France before Italy entered the war
A sober ashlar monument to the 2,000 Italian volunteers who enlisted for France before Italy entered the war. This Italian Legion was commanded by Peppino Garibaldi, grandson of the famous Giuseppe. The monument was built on the site of the Garibaldian cemetery, where the 590 Italian volunteers killed in action in the Argonne were originally buried. It was inaugurated on April 21, 1932.
