In the heart of Nancy, the famous Poincaré high school, a majestic establishment filled with history opened in 1804, makes it the oldest in the Ducal city. It is installed at the location of two convents dismantled by the French Revolution, the Minimes and the Visitation. Members of the Lorraine nobility or high bourgeoisie were buried in the church, like Jean Lamour. This period remains only the cloister, and the chapel that serves as the exhibition hall or theater performances. Originally, it was an imperial high school created under Napoleon's rule. He then became Royal College and then National School. In 1913 he became the Henri Poincaré High School, the name of the famous physicist and mathematician who made his classes there. Other personalities have passed between the walls of the institution: Maurice Barrès, Charlélie Couture and his brother Tom November, Antonin Daum, Charles de Foucault, Emile Gallé, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Jean L 'Hôtes, Jack Lang, Karine Le Marchand, Albert Lebrun, André Rossinot, among others. The architecture is exceptional and passing through the building is always a pleasure. Better still, it is possible to visit it during the heritage days! This high school is the largest in Lorraine Academy and enjoys a high degree of radiation outside the region thanks to its prestige.
