A museum where you can find out all about Georges Guingoin, his commitment and how he became involved in the Resistance
Did you know that this was one of the most important maquis in France? The exhibition rooms are dedicated to Colonel Guingouin's 1st Limousin marching brigade of Franc-tireurs partisans, the actions of the maquis, the horrors of war, the crimes of Nazism and the militia, and the surrender of Limoges on August 21, 1944. Documents, objects, weapons, costumes and uniforms trace the history of the Resistance in the region. We discover the "Grand Georges, France's first maquisard", who is buried in the Saint-Gilles-la-Forêt cemetery. A fascinating visit.

J'espère que tous les visiteurs seront rappelés à leurs bons souvenirs. Malheureusement nous constatons encore à notre époque des formes de guerre horrible. Ne vous laisser pas envahir par l'horreur, il faut réagir et très très vite sinon nous allons droit dans le mur.......des horreurs !!!!
