A mine housing the Maison de l'or en Limousin, and organizing gold panning courses on the banks of the Isle at Le Chalard
The Bourneix gold mine, in the commune of Le Chalard, was the last to be exploited in France (closed in 2002). It is now home to the Maison de l'or en Limousin, which reveals everything about the mining of the precious metal in the region from the Gauls to the 21st century, including the gold rush of the 1900s: objects, personal accounts, photos... In summer, gold panning courses are organized on the banks of the Isle, and a gold panning competition is held for children.

Très belle journée, avec matinée à la recherche de paillettes d’or dans la rivière aidé par Philippe orpailleur qui sait transmettre ça passion.
Et l’après midi découverte de la maison de l’or et visite du filon d’or à différents endroits pour comprendre l’exploitation de l’or en Limousin des Celtes à nos jours…
Activité réalisée en famille avec un enfant de 9 ans qui a adoré.

De plus, ce Musée est géré par des Bénévoles, ce qui leur donne encore plus de Mérite ????
