LE MONT GARGAN

An extraordinary site! Culminating at 731 metres, Mont Gargan reveals its natural, cultural and historical treasures. A 2.2 km discovery trail begins with a pretty avenue of hundred-year-old beech trees and crosses heather moors and peat bogs. At the summit, discover the remains of the 19th-century Notre-Dame de Bon Secours chapel, a devotional fountain and a memorial stone: Mont Gargan was a major site of the French Resistance. The highlight of the visit: a vast panorama of the Millevaches plateau, the Monédières and the Auvergne mountains.
