THE CHURCH

This small, th-century rural church, which is quiet on the edge of the Creuse, is characterized by an incredible number of attractions. Its first porch, which outlines an open and sheltered area, has an astonishing wooden staircase to mount its octagonal steeple in chestnut shingles, with bells from among the oldest in the region. A dedication to the Celtic goddess Epona, then discovered as pink granite stele at the foot of the portal just before entering the church. Its contemporary stained glass stained glass windows, which highlight interior paintings (geometric motifs on the vaults and murals and murals of the th century). They are the work of a collaboration between the artist Philippe Scenography and the Centre des Arts du Fuego et de la Terre (CRAFT) in Limoges. An innovative process had to be specially invented to sink thin porcelain layers into a engraved mould. The dreamlike patterns are sublimated by the transparency and délcatesse of porcelain.
