THE MEDIEVAL TOWN
Typical Limousin town of character, preserving some remains of fortifications
Stroll through this magnificent medieval village. Saint-Thyrse church, built in the 11th century, is an architectural jewel overlooking the valley. From its early Romanesque stones to its Gothic fortifications, it tells the story of a thousand years. Around it, the narrow streets reveal half-timbered houses, ancient staircases, vaulted passageways and the remains of the medieval rampart. The René Bauberot Museum, housed in a former canonical house, presents collections on rural life, popular beliefs and the history of the Upper Limousin.
