LE CHÂTEAU DE SÉGUR
15 km from Saint-Yrieix, perched on a rocky outcrop in a meander of the Auvézère river, this castle tells the story of eight centuries of history. Once the residence of the powerful Viscounts of Limoges, it was partially destroyed by Richard the Lionheart in 1177. Classified as a Historic Monument, the site retains a 15th-century chapel, a Renaissance house and defensive features. Currently being restored, it offers a breathtaking view of the village and its medieval streets. A place steeped in history that's yours to explore. If you're passing through, this is a must-see!
