This windmill owes its restoration to the volunteers of the Association du Moulin de Cussol
Built in the 18th century by the monks of the Célestins order, this windmill was abandoned after the French Revolution, and became the property of the commune in 1997. Its restoration is thanks to the volunteers of the Association du Moulin de Cussol, who have successively renovated the tower, the roof, the wings and then the complete milling equipment. Apart from major events, the mill is open all year round by appointment. Visitors also enjoy a wide panoramic view over the Garonne valley, sometimes as far as the Pyrenees.

D'abord racheté presque en ruine par la mairie, il a été rénové grâce à une association qui aujourd'hui l'entretient et le met à l'accès au grand public.????
Un sympathique monsieur de cette association nous en a fait la visite ! Je recommande le détour ????

Celle-ci avait, par chance, ouvert l'entrée aux visiteurs ce jour là et proposait une visite gratuite de l'édifice avec en prime la mise en marche du système. Il est rare de pouvoir assister de près au fonctionnement complet du système de mouture de céréales et d'apprécier ainsi la vie d'autrefois du meunier.
Merci pour cet accueil instructif et inattendu ! Une belle curiosité pour les jeunes et moins jeunes.
