The second oldest appellation in the Bordeaux region, Graves de Vayres officially came into being in January 1926. Nestled between Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion, this wine-growing region forms an enclave on the commune of Vayres and the upper part of Arveyres. Today, some thirty estates share the terroir. The Maison du Vin des Graves de Vayres is a wine-tasting venue. Here, wines are available for sale at estate prices. Shipment possible.

Château La Caussade is a winery located in Vayres. It is part of the Ballet vineyard, a family estate launched in 1946 by Jean-Claude Ballet's grandfather. Today, the family manages 67 hectares of vines on two châteaux, including Château La Caussade, acquired in 1990. This château produces a red wine for ageing. Nathalie and Bruno, Jean-Claude Ballet's children, combine traditional vineyard and wine-making methods with new, more efficient techniques to extract the best from the terroir while respecting nature. Château La Caussade also offers a reception area in an old renovated wine storehouse, available for hire for all types of events.
